Makeup on a Budget in Kuwait - Creamy Colored Eyeliner Pencil

Colored Eyeliners are a must have in your Makeup kit if you're a MUA or just in your collection for that once in a while fun.

If you're a color fanatic like me, then this post if for you :) You must have seen in my Makeup tutorials or any bridal looks, I like to add a pop of color in everything making the look much more 'out of the box' kind. This can be done in the waterline or on the lower lashline or even as a full winged eyeliner. I have a YouTube video on 4 simple styles on how you can wear your colored liners, watch HERE.

So continuing my Makeup products on a budget in Kuwait Series, I'm gonna talk about some amazing pencil liners that I'm stuck with for more than 2 years now.

There are 4 brands totally which make these creamy liners and the best quality ones; Miss&Mrs! , Marie Glam, Victoria and Golden Lady.

As they claim to be, all are smudge proof and so opaque; very true to their color. This particular shade #029 is my absolute fav! I own 2 of these and  can wear it everyday without complaining :) Only thing you'll have to make sure is that you don't leave them open without the cap. The dry out if you do so as they're super creamy.

Above are all the pics with and without flash.

For those of you who love wearing a nude in their waterline, checkout this Marie Glam Liner in shade #107

As always you can find these liners in any local Makeup shops all over Kuwait, and they retail for only KD 0.5 to KD 1, score!

Thanks for reading guys and I shall catch up with another 'Makeup on a Budget in Kuwait' post next week :)

Makeup on a Budget in Kuwait - Contour / Concealer Palettes

Talk about contouring and how can I not include a pic of Kim K?
Contour palettes have hyped in the makeup industry for a couple of years now, After Kim's Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic made a it huge with the funny pics we all have seen using Banana Powder!

How can any cosmetic company not take the advantage of this and bring in eye catchy and super-duper expensive Contour palettes? Well every brand has one of their own now. You can ask a kid and she will know whats contouring; "Oh it makes your face slimmer" or "It makes your nose small".

I used to use the Coastal Scents Eclipse palette for cream contouring and sculpting, It did an 'Okay' job. You get 4 correctors and 11 contour and highlight shades. The correctors are useless and the shades can't be used for concealing purposes. I got mine from an Instagram seller for 7KD I guess, which i thought was a lot for the quality I got.

So lemme introduce you guys to the 2 cream contour palettes that I've been using for almost a year now and I don't see the need to get any other branded stuff.

The first one is this 'Golden Lady' Corrector Palette which is my second one because I absolutely love it! You guys wont believe but it is so much better than the coastal scents one!

It is available in 3-4 shades depending on your undertone; Warm, Cool or Neutral (Read HERE to know how to determine your undertone) Majority of my clients and Models are Warm undertoned so I always get the Shade 001.

(sorry the shades look really washed out and pale, but they are more skin like in person)
Basically you get 4 shades; I use the lightest as an highlight color and the darkest for contouring. I always do the contouring after foundation so that I have a perfect canvas to work on. Depending on the skin shade I mix and match my colors. And trust me, these 4 shades are more than enough for me work on any kinda Warm Skin, rather than beating my head with a huge ass palette with a billion colors.

Speaking of the blendability of the colors, it is seamlessly flawless! Each shade is so creamy and so easy to cook on the skin. I was actually very impressed with the quality of this palette for the price I was paying. I don't think there is any need for me to go back to any other branded palette now.

Now for the part you'll have been waiting for, Can you guess how much I paid for this? Just 2KD!! Yup, not lying :) I guess the prices may vary depending on the location where you get it from, but I don't think You will get it for more than 3KD max. Isn't that a jaw-dropping deal? Yup you can remember me in your prayers everyday looking at your sculpted cheeks in the mirror, lol!

You can ask for this brand in any local Makeup shops and most of them will have it. I got mine from a shop in Salmiya, opposite Marina Mall.

The second one I really love is from a brand called 'Red Star'. Its a local Kuwaiti brand owned and produced by 'Makeup Al- Mansour'. Its a chain of shops all over Kuwait with some amazing and affordable stuff. I'm their loyal customer since I was in school maybe, lol. You can find brands like Milani, Deborah, L.A Splash, L.A Girl, Smiling, etc. exclusively only at Makeup Al- Mansour.

This wheel comes in 4 shades as well and you get a contour shade, a corrector and a concealer which also can be used for highlighting. I have mine in shade 02, which is a neutral. Very creamy and easy to work with. This also retails for KD2 and there wouldn't be any fluctuation in prices as its exclusive to Makeup Al- Mansour only.

What I also like about these both products is that you get a huge Ingredients list, so if you're allergic to anything specific you can compare.

These are all their branches all over Kuwait and I'm sure you will find one near you :)

I hope you guys liked my first post on the Series - Makeup on a Budget in Kuwait.
Lemme know if you tried any of the palette and how it worked out for you, also tell me what to talk about in my next post :)

Makeup Products on a Budget in Kuwait - Local Makeup

Let's talk facts here.. who doesn't like to own every single MAC Lipstick? or every single shade of Makeup Forever Aqua Liners? Well I do! Makeup in Kuwait is quiet expensive, duh, let it be high end or a drugstore brand.

In midst of all this "Brand" oriented attraction of companies, and their very amazing advertising strategies, darn they get me every-time to buy every Naked Palette! :'(
We are forgetting the locally available and produced brands in Kuwait. Which are as amazing as 'Branded' stuff out there.

Being bought up in Kuwait, I had no idea what was MAC, Sephora or even Maybelline till like 5 years ago. I'm not saying I used crappy green lipstick which stained your lips for forever before that, but there is so much more to it when I say local Kuwaiti makeup.

So, I wanna start this series where I'll be talking about my favorite Makeup products every week that I've been using for a while now and I don't see the need to spend 10KD for the same on a 'Branded' one.

So lemme know in the comments if you want me to talk about something in particular, like concealer, blushes, eyeliners, etc.

Staring tomorrow, my first product is gonna be Contour Palettes as a lot of you have been asking me what I use on my models and clients. And trust me, you wont be disappointed :)

Your Wedding Makeup Inspiration - Loverly & Gul's Artistry

Believe it or not, your wedding makeup and hair are as important as your dress or venue. After all, its YOUR big day and you want all eyes on you, including your man's :)

The Best part of being a bridal Makeup Artist is that I get to know all the details about the wedding before anyone else and that includes the 'Dress'.

When Lover.ly sent me these beautiful dresses to design my ideal Bridal Look Inspiration, I had a blast of ideas rushing through my head. I wanted to actually create looks for these dresses to express my love for them.

Keep reading to know what I came up with :)

The Pin-up Bride

There are a ton of things that can be done with your hair and makeup when you have a Classic white gown. I decided to go with Pin-up makeup and loose curls side swept hair that would compliment the tube opening.

The dress looks Simple but Bold, therefore I wanted my Makeup to be the same. Simple on the eyes, but bold on the lips.

For the eyes I used a bronze shadow on lids, brown in the crease and shimmery white in the lower inner corner to make the eyes look awake. Lined the outer lower lashline with a black kohl and a dramatic winged eyeliner with natural falsies. To put it all together, I used MAC Ruby Woo for that classic red lips.

The Daring Bride

I love colors! This bride thinks outside the box and is daring enough to experiment with colors and textures on her big day. I just couldn't decide on one look for this dress, finally inspired by the lovely Purple to Lilac Ombre effect on the bottom of the dress I created a dramatic purple and rose gold cat-smokey eye with a prominent crease while going natural on the lips with a matte peach. I also contoured the features so that her face doesn't look flat with the puffy bridal bun.

As I said, couldn't decide on one look. I also liked the natural wavey side swept hair look.

The Chic Bride

Lace anyone? Uh.. hell yea! Who would ever say no to a Lacy Delicacy with a fish cut bottoms? This bride likes the elegant and chic styles with a twist of her own. To compliment the lace pattern on the chest area, which makes it look bold, I wanted to go for a very romantic lip color. So that the dress and lips together say 'Kiss me, but with class'.

For that sparkly eyes, I went with gold lids and dark outer corners. And topped it off with kissable hot pink lips and sculpted cheekbones

As this was my Favorite style of dress, I created a very elegant side swept french braid up-do with flowers and diamond hair accessories.

So, this was my take on the awesome Makeup and Hair inspiration for Lover.ly
Do check them for a million more such inspirations and ideas for your big day.

And Thanks to my loyal models and M&J Photography for these breathtaking clicks. Check their Facebook fan page for contact details.

Wearable Simple Day Time Eid Makeup Tutorial

Hey Guys! So here's my take on a very simple makeup tutorial suitable for wearing on Eid Day. As a lot of you were requesting me to do a simple wearable makeup for people who don't prefer to cake up but still wanna look special :)

You can also wear this look to any formal event or Iftar Parties. Keep reading for full product details with pics :)

This summer I've been loving this Aloe Vera Gel Moisturizer from Boots, it also doubles up as a foundation primer. On Eid you wanna use something really moisturizing under your makeup to protect your skin.

You guys have been really tired of seeing this in every tutorial of mine, lol! But undoubtedly these both right here are my holy grail ^^ Go checkout my Review on the ever so cute Beauty Blender HERE . Using a Beauty Blender will give you a flawless finish and also a full coverage effortlessly.

Another love of my life is this MAC Studio Finish Concealer, I'm in shade NC30. Uing a lighter concealer under your eyes will give you a highlighted look instantly. I like to apply it using the Beauty Blender as well.

I set my whole face with this NYX Twin Cake Compact Powder in shade 'Soft Beige'. It will help your makeup last longer and also avoid your skin to get oily.

For my brows as usual used the Isa Dora Eyeshadow Palette in Matte Chocolates and set them in place with H&M Brow Fix Gel.

For Eyeshadow Primer I used the MUA Pro Base Eye Primer. You always wanna use an eye primer no matter what look you are going for. It really helps to Intensify the color of the eyshadow you gonna use and also help it last all day without creasing.

All Eyeshadows used are from the ELF 144 Neutral Eyeshadow Palette. I really recommend this palette for Everyone, like everyone can have it and make a good use of it weather you are a MUA or an everyday user. Amazing color payoff and very affordable. I got mine from an instagram seller @barbieshopq8 for KD10 only!

I didn't use any Liquid liner or kohl for this look as I wanted it to be very simple and fresh. So to add some definition, I applied trillion coats of my fav mascara in the whole wide wold; Bourjois Volume Glamour MAX Definition. Also I have avoided using falsies to make it look more natural.

To Add some color to my face I used the Bourjois Delice de Poudre in shade 51 and for blush I used the Mikyajy blush I got in one of their sets. Its a light baby pink shade that will instantly brighten up the whole look.

Lastly finishing it off with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade 'Istanbul' which is a beautiful baby pink color. On Eid you wanna use something Matte and longlasting, so using a Liquid Lipstick is the perfect choice.

So this is the final Look :)

Hope you guys enjoyed the look as much as I enjoyed filming it! Watch the Video below and don't forget to Subscribe and Rate the video, also comment your requests :)

Inglot Cosmetics in Kuwait

There are a lot of Makeup Brands unavailable in Kuwait like Nars, Anastasia Baverly Hills, Pixi, Lorac, Illamasqua, Hard Candy, etc. Inglot was one of those brands until I sighted it at Avenues, well it is not new, it has been there since 2 years or so. In-spite of me literally living in Avenues everyday, I didn't know it until a week ago. And I know I'm not the only one who didn't know this, therefore I decided I'll do a detailed blogpost for you guys :)

Here's what exactly happened is, I got out from Office Depot and walked towards right like I always did while passing that area. Then suddenly I saw Colors *_* (you see the in the picture the shelves on the right, those are lipsticks and nail polishes) and...my jaw dropped! And my pocket got a hole for sure! I had to buy something from this heavenly place :P

So there is only one Inglot Cosmetics store in Kuwait. Its in Avenues

My Inglot Makeup Haul

I'm a sucker for multi-purpose stuff, let it be an everyday tool or Makeup! So therefore all the 3 stuffs I picked are multi-functional.

The First thing that I wanted to own from a really long time was their Cream Blush, well I'm not a huge fan of blushes, but the color range they have had me mesmerized! *_* Plus, they can be doubled up as a lip stain as well as an eyeshadow base! I got mine in shade #94.

Second Product I picked up is their World Famous Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in the shade #76 which is a matte white that can also be used as Eye shadow base. The last thing I got was the Multicolour System Face / Eyes / Body Highlighting Powder in #88 which again can be doubled up as Eyeshadows :)

I highly recommend Inglot cosmetics if you are looking for some good quality affordable High End Makeup other than MAC. Absolutely love their packaging, really good quality.

Thanks for Reading and as always Happy Makeup-ing! ^^

Review: Bourjois Rouge Edition 'Velvet' in the shade 'Grand Cru'

This if for all you Vampy Lip lovers out there :)

As you know, I'm not a big fan of Reds, Magentas and Maroons. I just don't like the way it looks on me, but you guys say it suits me sometimes. So I'm gonna review this product for you guys cause' I'm freaking loving it!

This is the new Rouge Edition 'Velvet' by Bourjois, yes for the 100th time, Bourjois again! I love them so much ^^ Anyhu, Liquid Lipsticks are totally inn at the moment. Literally every brand is making them, NYX, Milani, Karaza, Loreal, etc. (I love the NYX one as well, reviewing them next!) So basically a liquid lipstick is an opaque lipgloss that comes in glossy, matte or sheer textures.

The Bourjois Rouge Edition 'Velvet's has a beautiful non-drying velvet matte finish and is buildable. You can layer on the product without it clumping up as most of the matte lip stains do. It claims to last upto 24 hours, but seriously who wears lipstick for that long? In my experience, the shade starts to fade after 4-5 hours and also it doesn't completely dry up, it still transfers on your cups, food, hands, etc.

It comes totally in 8 shades. Every color is unique and beautiful, every personality can find their preferred shade. Once you're at the booth, the decision in tough :(

It has the regular slant foam lipgloss applicator. The product is true to its color and very opaque. It swatches very faintly on the hands, but trust me, on the lips its super opaque and pigmented! Well my camera is picking the color very faint, but in person this shade 'Grand Cru' is the bloodiest maroon.

Here's the swatches for the Lipstick with and without flash (with flash looks shiny coz of the flash guys, its matte finish)

Where to Buy and Price?

Well, as always you can pick up this product from any Bourjois counters at Boots, VaVaVoom, Debenhams, Center Point, Max, etc. all over Kuwait.

It Retails for around KD5.25

Thanks so much for reading. Happy Makeup-ing! :)

Review: No7 Anti-Dark Spot Facial Sun Protection

Welcome my 'Extreme Summer Heat' Victims of Kuwait! :)

Other day while shopping for...Makeup ofcourse...the Bourjois Sales Lady at Boots hooked me up to this amazing Sun Block Lotion from No7.

I've never actually got so fascinated by SPF Lotions or creams, but just to save my face from the fireballs in Kuwait at the moment I decided to get a good one. And guess what? This is the first time I've spent KD7 on a skincare product and not cried about it later on! Thanks to the sweet Bourjois sales lady ^^ that's why its my fav drugstore brand!

Firstly, lets talk about its packaging. Very basic, sleek and simple. I liked now the 'No7' Logo is so in focus on the white background. On seeing the box itself, you can know its a sunscreen.

The actual product comes in a tube, which is awesome! You can control the amount of product you want on every use. Simple white tube with a sun-yellow lid opening, very summery!

So the product claims the following:

  • Ultra UVA Protection
  • 50+ SPF UVB Sunscreen
  • Hypo Allergenic - Suitable for all skin types
  • Anti-Dark Spot and reduces Hyper Pigmentation
  • Anti-Aging
  • No-shine lotion
  • Water Resistant
  • Non-pore blocking

I'm really enjoying this stuff. Everything the product claims is absolutely true, except it being an anti-shine formula. After the sun screen sets in, you still can see the shine. I'd recommend to use a translucent powder on top if you have oily / combination skin. If not, then you're good to go :)

The lotion itself is very thick and creamy, which, according to me, a sunscreen should be. As it will form a sturdy and thick layer on your skin protecting from the sun. It has this hint of brightening white caste, which is not so obvious once the product is well blended. This is the essential part which helps reduces the dark spots and pigmentation.

Where to Buy and Price:

All No7 products are available in any Boots store all around Kuwait.
It retails for KD7

Thanks for Reading!

I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU GUYS FIND THE RIGHT SUNSCREEN :)
IF YOU TRY IT OUT, LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS, I'D LOVE TO KNOW YOUR OPINIONS AS WELL

HAPPY MAKEUP-ING!!!
